CHENNAI: A 47-year-old personal assistant of VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan was hacked to death by a five-member gang in Madipakkam on Wednesday morning.
The man identified as Vetriselvan of Sabapathy Nagar tried to start his car after visiting his office in Raghava Nagar when the gang encircled him. Apparently scared on seeing the gang, Vetriselvan ran for his life when he was chased and hacked to death.

The gang came in a car, police said. A man who tried to save him also sustained injuries in the attack. Police suspect that a dispute over a land in Kanathur with his relative was the reason behind the killing. The gang is absconding.
Vetriselvan owned a real estate firm in Moovarasampet.
